The Wonders of Waiting.

In Saheeh Muslim, it is narrated that ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with
him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:
“Allah wrote down the decrees of creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens
and the earth.”
One of the most important acts of worship, no matter your religion, is gratitude. In good times
and in bad. That’s easy to do when we’re smiling, happy and have little to no worries. It’s when
the tough times come around that it’s a challenge.
When tough times come around, it’s natural to feel upset, unhappy and unworthy. It feels like
we’re being punished for something and that God is not pleased with us in some way.
But I write this to you, the one with pain in your heart and tears in your eyes and a reminder to
myself. No matter the tough situation you are in, you may not see a way out right now but there
is. Undoubtedly. God has a plan for you. He will never put you in that situation if you can’t
handle it. The Qur’an says:

“ALLAH does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.” (2:286)
Having many loads on my shoulders, it has taught me so many valuable lessons that I now only
see were only possible through those trials and tribulations.

So no matter how heavy the load is, your shoulders have the strength to carry it. That is God-
given strength. Your most powerful weapon against any battle is faith in God. Believe that He

will get you out of the darkness in the most wonderful way. It is said in the Quraan:

“And He will provide him from sources unimaginable to him. And whosoever puts his trust in
Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a
measure for all things.” (6:3)
It’s hard to understand when you all you feel is lost and confused but take this from someone
who has been in your shoes. I completely understand. Trust me when I say that if you keep
going and hold unbreakable faith, you are headed for some life-changing breakthroughs.
Patience is of utmost importance right now. The quality of your life depends on it. Whilst it may
seem that there is little that can be done to change the course of things, you can be patient.
There is a great deal of peace that settles within you when you choose to pick yourself up, hold
your head high and be patient as it all passes. And it will, everything will pass.

In the Quran Surah Baqarah Allah says:

Verily, Allah is with those who are Patient. [2:153]
Pick your head up, little fighter, the sun came up today to show you that after dark times, comes
the bright days. There is life within you. It needs to be expressed. There is endless potential
within you right now, believe it or not. There is air in your lungs and that is something to be
grateful for. It keeps you alive even through the bad days because it’s time here isn’t up.
Neither is yours.
There are people who have hurt you, broken your heart and made you cry but there are also
people who ave stood with you in the darkest days and simple times.
There are monsters within you, within us all, that we deal with on a daily basis. Bad habits, toxic
people, self-image and self-sabotage. You conquer it every day. You have made mistakes and
failed more than once. But you have also had some great wins, accomplishments and days
where you laughed with your whole belly.
These are just some of the greatest blessings which aren’t so apparent to us. They have
allowed you to learn and grow. If we are to live our lives according to God’s will then trust that
the plan He has for us is the greatest of plans. While we may not always know what that plan is,
we can trust that He wants us to live our lives with true love, peace and joy. That’s the greatest
thing about trials, it comes around to teach you, strengthen you, heal you. It can only be
achieved through the most natural force of life – growth.

As an avid reader and writer, it’s no surprise that communications became my career and line of work. There is never one thing in particular that defines who I am, except the fact that I am passionate about everything I do. That made me the odd one out most of my life. It made realize how important it is to listen to my heart.
