How easy it is to look at your friend and let them know that you accept them completely, just as they are, flaws and all.

You look past their mistakes and failures.

Why do you never do that for yourself?

Why are you so hard on yourself that you only see the bad and broken, the flaws and failures. Why do you live your life, rejecting yourself?

You see, when you’re accepting your friend for who they are, you’re choosing to see the the goodness. Thats a choice you make because you know under all that, is a real human, who is special, unique.

Shouldn’t the same logic apply to you? You too, are special, unique. There is goodness in you, too. You need to choose to see it.

Let’s take a look at how you can do that.

Imperfections - Every person on this planet, and I mean everyone, has a flaw. Some have 3 others have 6. And that’s okay! In fact, it’s normal. It is the most natural part of the human experience. Tell yourself that it’s okay. If there are things you cannot change, accept them. Don’t use your precious energy to fight and resist and reject. Imperfections, yes, but they are yours, and you should accept everything about you.

Be mindful of your thoughts - It’s very easy to go spiraling down a habit of negative and overthinking. It’s okay to allow yourself to just be once in a while but when you notice things are getting out of control, take caution. Learn to cancel out the negative thoughts and consciously replace them thoughts that will keep you going.

Positive self talk - A must in any journey of change - positive self-talk. The way you see and think about yourself is exactly how you will show up for yourself. If you’re always putting yourself down, then you’ll never have the confidence to make it through the simplest things in life. But when you talk yourself up, encourage your inner self and really believe in yourself, something is going to go right. Do it until it becomes a habit! Compliment yourself, congratulate yourself and constantly encourage yourself.

Choose to see the good - While i'm always going on about self improvement, I too have to remind myself that not everything needs to be changed. Some things are fine, just as they are. Find and focus on the good things about you, because we all have those too. Doing this will make you feel so much better than worrying about why you’re imperfect in other parts of life. Use your precious energy to build yourself up, not bring yourself down.

By changing the way you think and feel about yourself, you’ll change the way you see everything else. It all starts with you.
